Get ready to celebrate warm and sunny days to come! |
Dollars for Scholars! Let's put the FUN in our Scholarship Fund! Local businesses, Tahoe Park neighbors and TPNA Maker's Market participants have donated fun items and experiences for an online auction to support the TPNA Scholarship Fund. Take a look right here! You can bid for garden consultation with Nancy Shinn, Chair of the TPNA garden committee, lunch with TPNA President Isaac Gonzalez, a pasta-making class, mosaic crafting sessions, a Mulvaney’s gift certificate, dance lessons with Balance Dance Project, martial arts lessons with Moore’s Martial Arts, and more. Art and jewelry, too!
Each year the Tahoe Park Neighborhood Association gives scholarships to graduating seniors who live in Tahoe Park or attend Hiram Johnson High School. Your support of this auction will help us make their college dreams come true. The Tahoe Park Neighborhood Association has given more than $80,000 to 110 graduating seniors since we began the Scholarship Fund in 2006. These scholarships are not awarded based on need or grade point averages, but on what students will strive to do for their community. This year we awarded $5,250 to nine graduates. 2024 scholarship recipients started their high school years at the height of the pandemic in 2020 when most campuses were closed. Despite that difficult beginning, they all found their path to college. Most are first generation college students and have had to balance supporting their families and their academics.
The TPNA Scholarship Fund is supported entirely through donations, sponsorships and fundraisings efforts like this one, so thank you in advance for exploring our auction!
Many thanks to all the businesses and artists who donated to make this possible: Mulvaney’s B and L, Sugar Coated Cupcakes, Bread by Beth, Shaded Fingers Art, Balance Dance Project, Moore’s Martial Arts, Joyce Pierce Alchemies, Carrie Markel, and Erik Hosino.
